Today I went to see the new Johnny Depp movie ‘The Lone Ranger‘ it was brilliant to say the least! But yet again I found myself sitting in another movie ogling the costumes. Although the old Wild West style costumes were great I was perplexed with Johnny Depp’s costume which represented an outcast Indian tribal member.
(Just a quick Johnny photo for all you fans out there hehe)For those of you who are thinking I must be talking about the bird.. Think again! I’m talking about the tribal vibe of the entire costume. This got me thinking about all things tribal and its appearance throughout both current day and early day fashion. Tribal is so much more than just animal prints, it’s about embellishment (omgomgomg), vivid colours, statement stones, detailing, aztec prints, feathers, tassels and SO much more!
Tribal has to be one of my all time favourite trends because there are major amounts of vivacious colour, detailing, embroidery and most importantly embellishment! I would have to say that tribal jewellery is my favourite type of tribal trend, seriously how can you not drool over these?
Tribal jewellery is amazing as it can be paired with such a wide range of outfits to make a statement without being too ‘in-your-face’ as a full tribal outfit can occasionally be. Still unsure how to add a little tribal into your everyday outfit? Simply pair it with your ‘never fail’ little black dress if you’re going out or with a coloured blazer and shirt for work (or even a black blazer cause so often the tribal colours speak for themselves!)
I will be posting some sneaky tribal influences from my week onto the instagram page so be sure to check it out (INSTAGRAM: chloesworldoffashion) Let me know your thoughts on tribal.
I would LOVE to receive some feedback from all of you, especially if anybody is attempting something tribal this week!
