What’s that? An award you say?

I am extremely honored and very excited to announce my nomination in the ‘Shine On’ award, thanks to the lovely Abrielle at Sheer Embellished.I am absolutely clueless about this award, however I will endeavour to abide by the rules of the award and state 7 things about myself.

1. I was born and currently live in Australia
2. I have played the piano since the age of 3
3. I have the biggest sweet tooth known to man kind
4. I have always wanted to become a ballerina
5. I swear a lot.. probably too much
6. I am a proud member of an E/F netball squad
7. I love to bake, especially cakes and anything deviously rich

Once again a huge thank you to Sheer Embellished, this really does mean so much!

Floral Flurry

Here’s one for all you daring fashion girls out there! A two piece floral suit is definitely a statement piece and isn’t for the faint hearted.

Image

The key to pulling off the floral suit is balance, do not over do the look! For example if you were sporting a floral suit with yellow undertones don’t opt for a statement pair of fluro yellow shoes or a heavily embellished top. Instead subtly compliment the yellow under tones with something else yellow like a ring or necklace, such as the necklaces below. Necklaces such as these subtly accentuate the colour without making the outfit over-the-top.

Wearing a floral suit is all about confidence, without it you have no hope of pulling it off! Be bold ladies and embrace your inner fashion monster because without it we’d all be wearing potato sacks! Pair the suit with a pair of minimalist black heels and a shoulder bag of your choice, then accessorise to your hearts desire! After all, fashion should reflect who you are.

Anybody attempted the floral suit? Let me know your thoughts!

Dressing for a concert: to rock or to roll is the question?

There’s something about being crushed in a mosh pit with fellow sweaty music lovers, boisterously bellowing the words to your favourite songs as the sound waves from the speakers pump through each and every cell of your body. Music withholds the magic ability to connect people.

So how do you dress for such a sacred event? It’s safe to say whether you’re up in the stands or down on the flat you’re going to want to dance (or in my case awkwardly attempt to move) so you’re outfit has to be practical yet chic as you’re up against a celebrity! Therefore I have put together a range of outfits to give you a little bit of inspiration when dressing for your next concert:

Rock Concert

Distressed denim, leather and rock ‘n’ roll are practically synonyms. You can never go wrong with a bold red lip, it screams rock and roll chic. For those superwomen out there that can dance incredibly in heels, try the first outfit!

Music Festival

From my experiences at music festivals it’s safe to say you will be getting hot.. very hot. Keep it light as the last thing you want is a clammy outfit when you’re smushed between shirtless sweaty guys all day. Don’t even attempt to wear heels as majority of your day will be spent moshing and stomping through grass. Opt for inclosed shoes or wellies as nobody wants bruised tootzies!

Pop Concert

Pop concerts are always difficult to dress as there is no real ‘dress code.’ When styling these pop concert outfits I sought inspiration from none other than the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson. I figured that there is no better place to go all out with gold, sequins or embellishment (inner embellishment obsessed monster making yet another appearance, sorry ladies!)

So the question is do I rock the classic ‘rock and roll’ look or do I roll with my own personal style? After much deliberation I decided to merge the two together bringing the rock ‘n’ roll look into the 21st century by adding glints of rose gold and a cheeky red lip. Because it’s freeeeeezing here in Australia I had to opt for a long sleeved black top rather than a sloganed tee just because I’m too much of a sissy to face the cold!
